I have retained an Attorney for a legal dispute with my employer. My employer constructively discharged me by creating a hostile work enviroment and adverse conditions. I am on disability for the emotional stress and was denied work comp ny their insurance carrier, they do not want to pay of course. Anyway I have a civil claim going now and my Attorney has been working on an hourly basis. I tried to get him to go on contingency but he will not until we reach $50,000.00, then he will go on partial. I have already paid him $24,000.00 and we have just begun. He has not even done one deposition or even got close to the courthouse. I feel I am being taken but I dont know if this is just normal. I do have a complex case but it is cut and dry in many viewers eyes. My attorney requires me to deposit $4,000.00 a month into his account at the beginning of the month. He then he bills me at the end of the month for his work. Does this seem right or is there someway I can feel more comfortable about our realationship. I do like him as my Council, but I feel I am being taken advantage of. I feel as if I am his cash cow and I am now trying to settle for a minimal amount due to the fact I am running short on funds. Is there some way I can get help financialy to continue or must I settle short?
Any Info is very helpful, thank-you.

No.
What do his monthly bills denote that he is doing ?
If its not clear to you, require that he make it clear.

At $200/hr [ not an unreasonable amount], that's 20 hours a month. What's he done ?
If you're not comfortable and he won't justify his time,...file a complaint with the State Disciplinary Board.
