What is the name of your state?ohio Recently i was involved in afight with my live in babies mother. She struck me several times, the end of the fight ended in me striking her. I have never before hit her, for this violence has been around for the longest. I was finally fed up. After i hit her, i immediatly went to the police station, 1 min down the street, and told them what happened.filled out reports had pictures taken. Now, I come to find that the state of Ohio is filing charges against me. the ex has alreadly pleaded guilty to DV. Am I also guilty, I feel guilty, but have been told i acted in self-defense. My pre-trial is January 10 2005 , is there any advice on how i should approach the court? AM I GUILTY?

Is the fact that someone on here says you are guilty or not guilty going to change the end result?

I cannot say what I would have done in that instance. While I have been hit before, by a woman, I have never retaliated.

Is she larger/stronger or otherwise more overpowering than you? Could you have been in fear of your life? You could claim temporary instanity or diminished capacity or something of that nature.

It all depends on the pleading and how seriously your story seems to her physical appearance--meaning, if she has any marks from the "single retaliation punch."

Good luck.
