My mom came to live with me just over a year ago because she couldn't afford to live in her own home any more. My dad passed on 11 years ago with lung cancer and at that time she put my name on her checking and saving accounts so that I could get money out for her or pay her bills for her if the time ever came when she was unable to do so. Just this last September my mom found out that she also has lung cancer. She has one credit card that she owes about 4000.00 on and so far her insurances are keeping up on her medical bills. My question is that since my mother lives with me and my name is on her accounts if she passes on will I be legally bound to pay her credit card bill and medical bills? She has about 7000.00 in savings at this time, but once that is gone, will her creditors come after me, and if they do, can they do anything to me? I have not signed anything that says I will pay her bills. I would appreciate an answer to this. Thanks!

Only if you agree to do so.
