another question about insurance notification

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? WA
so, i have another question about my insurance being notified or affected. in October, it will have been 5 years since my accident, and my probation will be over. will my insurance go up then, following the conviction of negligent driving, or since the incident was 5 years prior, will I not be affected at all? will I still get points against my license?

In most states (and I'm too groggy to look up Washington), points are assessed at the time of conviction, not a the disposition of probation. Insurance companies find out roughly the same time. DMV points don't have a direct correlation to insurance rates in most places anyhow.

Must have been a doozy for 5 years probation.

Now if you're now just getting around to reinstate your license, yes you are going to pay more based on your history (and the fact you need a SR-22 most likely).

I never lost my license or needed SR 22. i'm not sure why i had such a long probation. i had taken some pills to go to sleep, woke up an hour later, saw it was 7 o'clock and it was daylight out so I thought it was 7 am and i was late to work. so i was driving around town when I should have been in bed, was too confused to know what I was doing. so the deal was that after the probation, sucessfully completed, i would get a negligent driving instead of a DUI. i'm just confused about how this will affect my insurance since by the time i get the conviction, it will be 5 years later, and i thought i read somewhere insurance companies only look back 3 years.
