What is the name of your state?Michigan

If I plan to file bankruptcy in the next couple of months. Should I inform the IRS when doing my taxes? If i don't tell them, should I withhold from cashing my tax return if I get one?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with my questions. :-)

The IRS could care less about your bankruptcy, thus there is no notifying to be done. However, your trustee will want copies of your tax returns for the past 3 years, AND the Trustee MAY take your tax refund.
