Any privacy violations here?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? WI

My wife was a victim in a court case dated back about 5 years ago.

Since that time there had been many things posted publicy by courts regarding appeals, etc.

Her full name was used on some of these documents that as I said were posted publicly. I contacted the agency and they did remove her name for us, but my concern is that they had been posted for about 3+ years and may have damaged her reputation / employement oppotunities as anyone who goolged her name would findout some very personal information about a horrible experience she had gone through.

Is there any privacy act matters regarding victims in a circumstance like this?

Public records are by definition, NOT PRIVATE.

So, basically no special privacy rights for victims.

Sorry. Though why it would "damage her reputation" for someone to know she'd been a victim of a crime is beyond me.
