What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Minnesota

Sorry not sure what category to post under so I did it in both this and Lemon Law. Thanks

I had a dirtbike that I bought broken that had a bad piston. I replaced the piston and when I started it up it ran just enough to go around the block and died. I took the bike apart and found that I must have forgot to clean everything and a part of the old original piston got into the cylinder and destroyed my new piston. Being upset and frustrated I put it for sale on craigslist as a non running bike that needs a piston. I found a buyer and was 100% truthful with everything about the bike that I knew of to the best of my knowledge and stated that I bought it broke and how it broke on me. Later that night he called me saying he put new parts in it and it did the same thing to him and he thinks the crankshaft is bad and he wants his money back. I told him I in no way would have ever try to scam him or try and hide anything from him in anyway. He was pretty upset and when I told him I would not refund the money he hung up. My main concern is can he take it any farther like to the courts and should I be worried? I was never threatened with a lawsuit but don't want something to come up in the future. There was never any agreement about warranty or a guarantee and he looked over the bike before buying it. I really had no idea that more was wrong with the bike I am going by what the guy is telling me.

Of course he can pursue any legal remedies against you, including litigation. After all, almost anyone can sue almost anyone else claiming almost anything.

In general, this sale would be a case of 'as is' and 'buyer beware'. However, as for whether he has a valid case against you or not would depend ENTIRELY on the specific claims, if any, that were made at the sale and whether a court would believe them or not.

Absent receiving an actual court summons or complaint.... I wouldn't worry too much about a lawsuit. However, that doesn't mean that he or his friends might not take too kindly to the sale. :D
