i live in arizona
on 3/2/01 i was served with a civil summons.
on 3/21/01 i answered the summons & sent a copy of it to the plaintiffs attorney.
today i received an application for entry of default & entry of default.
what does this mean??? they are saying i didn't answer the summons..but i did..
what do i do now?

My response:

Did you:

1. Attach a "Proof or Certificate of Service" to your responsive pleading ?

2. Did you file your original responsive pleading with the Court ?

Now, you're going to need to file a Motion to Set Aside Default Judgment with the court, and remember to serve opposing counsel with a copy, and keep a copy for yourself.

Actually, the above procedure can be quite complicated. You really should obtain the assistance of an attorney as soon as possible.
