Arressted and taken to jail for the night.

NC- In July 2010, my wife had some minor driving citations dismissed, via retained lawyer. This past Thursday, the sherriff's dept. came to our house and took her to jail. They issued warrants for Failure to Appear, She has never been in any trouble what so ever , she was taken to the jail, $20,000 secured bond and was there overnight. Dismissed the next day, but she is unable to cope, she is litterally a wreck over this. Can we be compensated?
