What is the name of your state? GA

Are judgements still placed if no assets like a car or house are found first by the CA?

..and yes I already know they CAN be filed on any debtor, but is this common if no major assets are found?

anyone here with experience, know what type of debtor they normally file a judgement against?

From what I have been discovering Bankruptcy is not always the best answer for everyone all of the time.

There isn't really a definite answer on this. It depends on the amount of the debt, who the debt is with, if the debtor is working, has potential to work and aquire assets in the future.

Very good points, all of them, makes sense, so they try to not only see what you have presently, but what you have potential to have down the road.

thanks.

A judgment can go for up to 20 years, so yes, potential can come into play. If your a student and they think you may have potential to have something then they will pursue it, if it's cost effective to what you owe.

If they're really after you, what you do or do NOT have doesn't mean squat, they can still sue you and win a judgment against you. If you have nothing today, they'll come after what you might acquire down the road, including wages and bank accounts.
