What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?I live in CT. My condo was built in the 70's and I have lived here for almost 20 years. There has never been any assigned parking here. When the units were built, they alloted 1.5 spaces per unit. There are 198 units in the complex. Members on the board of directors have decided to mount a campaign of assigning ONE parking space per unit regardless of the number of vehicles the unit owner may have. The president of the board does not drive, the woman who came up with the plan has only one car (she is the presidents girlfriend), two other members have only one car and another has a handicapped sticker. This will obviously be a great benefit to some board members. On the other hand I was told since my wife and I each have a car, one of us would have to park in a lot on the perimeter of the complex.......no where near my unit!!! They say it is fair because everyone will be treated equally.....easy to say if you only have one car or don't drive at all!

They say they will take a vote of unit owners. If many have just one car it will be great for them, but certainly not for me....the place was not designed for assigned parking!

Is this legal???

**A: yes, if the proper procedures were followed, it would be legal. Instead of griping, make friends with the people and rent a stall from someone.
