What is the name of your state?maine

My daughter who is 18 was sleeping in her own car in the driveway of a "friend" while her boyfriend (bestfriend to girl) retrieved an object in the friends house. She awakened to being punched in the face and dragged out of the car. Not being a fighter and in shock over what was happening she did nothing to defend herself. The friend stopped when her mother yelled to her from the house. My daughter jumped in the car and drove off to get away. in the mean time she blacked out at the wheel and ran off the road. Police officer said "friend" and mother admitted to everything but she was mad because my daughter supposedly spread rumors about her. The "friend" has been posting internet messages about how funny it is and was all worth it and she will get away with it because she doesnt turn 18 for 2 months. When I questioned the police he said she is probably right. Any help for us?

IAAL?

So we are to believe your daughter fell quickly into snooze land while behind the wheel.........parked in a driveway.....while boyfriend went into bestfriends house to grab something? Your daughter then got hit, yet jumped in her car after being hit ,and blacked out while driving?

Maybe you should ask her for the truth.

i guess i should have explained better

the boy friend was also socializing. also it was late around 9:30 on a school night my daughter was tired she was napping waiting so she could drop her boyfriend of at home so she could go home and the person that assaulted her (and her mother) has already admitted that my daughter told the truth and that is exactely what happened and she was proud of what she did and would like to continue it. so its not a question of weather i believe her.

also she didnt just hit her she beat her so that i didnt even recognize her in the hospital room. Would you have just stayed there and continued to get beat on or would you have tried to flee. remember we live in rural Maine it wasnt like someone could here her screaming.

why didn't your daughter charge her with assault and battery?

minor or not, there would still be some judge involved
