What is the name of your state? fl, case is in IN

I just received a "motion to withdraw" from my attorney that has been handling a mortgage fraud case of mine for 2 years. I have paid several thousand dollars to this attorney and have yet to get any relevant information on my case. Every time I ask for an update he always gives me a bunch of legal jargon (usually 2-3 weeks after I've called and e-mailed), then a bill follows for services I don't believe he performed. Now he has been suspended for 1 year for attorney misconduct due to another case.

Do I have any way to get my money back I've paid him? I am no further along in my case than I was 2 years ago. I have never received anything other than a bill from him in regards to my case.

What do you expect him to perform for you that he hasn't done yet? Represent you in the actual court hearings?

Did you sign a fee agreement/contract with him? If so, what does that stipulate about firing him or discontinuing the use of his services, if anything?

File a complaint with him against the state bar association but first check the bar association website to see if they will handle a fee dispute--some won't.
