I don't know if this would pertain more to auto accidents or credit collections but...I was in an auto accident 1/96 in Houston,TX and had no insurance. They said I was at fault and the other driver's insurance company has claimed to have sued me but I don't ever remember being summoned to court. They claim I owe something like $10,000 and I recently received a letter from the Dept of Public Safety about my license being suspended. I am a full time student and do not work. Do you know of any way that I can have my license renewed? My husband is willing to work with them on some sort of payment plan but we don't have money for a lawyer and I don't know how to deal with them. We don't really have the money to pay them but I need my license for school. Any advice is appreciated.
Thank You,

By the way, this accident was on 1/7/96 and the letter states this judgment was rendered on 4/17/98 in case it helps. Also, I've read some things on garnished wages, does that mean that if I can't pay when I do get a job once I finish school they can garnish my wages?
