I have a bounced check that I can not pay until five days past my 10 days I was given. Should I go ahead and send payment when I get the money even if it will be late?

If you don't pay the check within the 10 days detailed in the demand letter, the merchant (payee) could go down to the prosecutors office and file on the 11th day. I agree with HT on this.... call the merchant, explain the circumstances and ask them to hold it for another five days. If you don't pay it by that time, you can almost bet the merchant will pursue charges against you.
