What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? OK

Hi everyone!

I have a quick question. It is time for son's dad to make his first CS payment.
My understanding was that all payments would be done thru the CSEA.
Dad told me yesterday that he has the option of paying CSEA or paying me directly.

My issue with Dad paying me directly is, well, CS was due on the 15th. Today is already the 17th, and dad said it would be a week or 2 before he could get me some of the money.

It would be better in the long wrong, and more protection for both of us, if we go through CSEA, right?

Dad is upset that I told him I would rather go through CSEA. Makes me a bit suspicious.

Thanks everyone!

He doesn't have that choice. If the court orders say to go through the CSEA, then if he does not and paying you directly, he will legally show as having arrearages.

Its definitely wiser for things to go through the CSEA.

Thanks! Our order states that his payment to the CSEA is due on the 15th, but he said he spoke with them and they said he has the option to pay me.
I thought it seemed shady. It would actually hurt him to pay me directly, so I guess I'm wondering what his motive could be.
The only thing I can think of, is he is already late on paying.
::shrug::

I'll stick with the decision for him to pay CSEA.

Thanks again!
