What is the name of your state? NJ

Didn't want to completely hijack sad scooter issue!! And I don't see you as open to PM's so - of course, you are going to agree with me! You are in the same boat!

What is so humorous to me is that financial issues often result in divorce. Instead of the courts or the judge recognizing the issue as stated, they instead award alimony which basically I read as a "reward" to the person for their refusal to accept responsibility. It's absolutely amazing!!

Family court has to be the only court in the state where doing nothing is truly your best course of action. My Ex did NOTHING. He supplied nothing, provided no documentation, no evidence. Just his word.

I had documentation up the ying yang - did anyone care to review it? Nope! My documentation included written responses to the Ex from Welfare (DYFS), Social Security, VA, his doctors - all of which included the information that he had submitted that was out and out fraudulent.

For example, DYFS contacted me to demand my salary information so that they could garnish for child support tobe paid to my HUSBAND. Imagine their surprise when I advised we were still married (this was in 06), I lived in the home, paid all of the bills and was sole support for the children. I was contacted 2 add'l times by them in '07 with all of his shennanigans.

Now - would it be too unrealistic for me to expect that my documented proof would carry more weight than his word? Silly me apparently!

Whatever...venting here I guess. I just find it absolutely incredible.

Meanwhile, the panel members, the economic mediator, the parenting mediator, even the judge in her summation - they all acknowledged that they knew exactly what he's pulling, they understand what is going on, that they know it isn't fair but - they can only rule as per the laws of the state which leave them helpless to rule otherwise.

Pathetic when the officers of the court cannot "right size" the wrongs that govern it. And I'm guessing that the only reason they even acknowledged it to me was because I am a woman. Otherwise? It probably would just have been business as usual...

You should have had the judge I had. You would be much better off than you are.

That idiot let my ex's attorney run the entire show. My lawyer knew what what going on and couldn't do a thing about it.

It was like I was being prosecuted for a crime instead of just getting a simple divorce!

The law firm of my ex's attorney was instrumental in getting that judge elected and they wanted some payback!!
