Bank error

St. of IL April 1998 the bank deposited money to my account that was not mine $2,000+. Now they want their money. My daughters were on my account and they are sending us all to collections. I thought they were benif. but they said no. Can I get away without paying this back? Kipper

Probably not, and in some states it also would be a crime to take money you know is not yours.
