What is the name of your state? MO my sister has a hold on her checking account because a court order hold from a credit card company she cannot withdrawl or deposit any money into her account she is a full-time student and she is in a master program which she has to pay for all cost she does not have a job at all because of the masters program she is in. what can she do at this time and what legal advice can somone give to her if she has no income at all besides the loans that she has to take out to pay for school also the loans that she would get will come from the bank that has the hold will that prevent her from recieving a loan from that bank to pay for school the debt is from a credit card company and its 5000 that she owes

They have a judgment against her and they've siezed the bank account to make her wake up and DO something to settle the debt. If she had student loan money in that account, that money is 100% EXEMPT and she MUST appeal the bank levy and show that the money is from a student loan. She needs to call the court and find out what she needs to do to appeal the levy, she might have to file a Motion to Quash.

She will have to come to some arrangement to pay this judgment - and she's probably going to have to open a new bank account somewhere else if the loan money has to be direct deposited.
