I live in Nebraska. I've applied for a loan, and I have been approved. Here's the problem:

I need to have two months of bank statements. I have the documents ready to go, but there are two debits on my checking account statement where I used my checking card at an adult video store. The problem is that I know my loan officer, and he is a friend of my father. Are these debits something I need to worry about? Do I have the right to "black marker out" the vendor's name and only show the charge? Could these debits perhaps make closing on the loan difficult?

Lender is just justifying cash flow and that there are no NSF charges during that time and that you have what you say you have. They could care less what you spent the money on.

Just look the loan officer in the eye and tell him that what is on that bank report is between you and him. Nobody else or else. Embarrassing for you, yes, but it wont affect the loan.....

It's a safe bet the LO won't even notice. They're looking for the big debits (like rent/mtge checks), any NSF's and the balances (avg collected and present).

My response:

You're in trouble if the L/O is a right wing, religious fanatic, or if you're a woman. If the latter case is true, then please send me a private message with your name, address and phone number and breast size.
