The residents at our apartment complex have many complaints about the leasing office manager. Even when we complain to corporate office there is no help.

The leasing office and handyman conspire together to send notes to residents about dishes in the sink, toys on the floor, clutter, food that is not covered in saran wrap, pots and pans left on counters, food crumbs under the microwave and silly issues like that. in my case they say we have too much clutter because we leave the kids toys in the house. we are talking a few barbie dolls and the toy house. FOr my neighbor she was told that she should learn to cover food in her fridge or when left on the surface. Another one got a note about dishes in the sink. NOne of the residents have outrageously dirty apartments.

THose who get tired of this just move out or end up getting eviction notices from the corporate office which does not know that all this craziness comes from a female apartment manage on a power trip and her handy man.

i have complained and now we are having issues because i told them to stop harrassing residents. they said to wait on the corporate office to resolve the issue. i suspect they will turn on us with an eviction notice.

should i just go ahead and file a complaint with the Better business bureau while looking for a new residence or what?

i am just FRUSTRATED.

There have been police incidents at the complex which have not been addressed but we have to put up with all this crap!!!!

Give proper notice and M*O*V*E.

BBB complaints are worthless...you feel good while you are typing out your complaint online; however, a copy will be sent to the mgmt office and you will make an ENEMY of the on-site staff. Resist this venting mode and concentrate on moving out.

we do intend to move out but why are we letting the manager in the leasing office get away with harrassing residents.

i have been there about a year and 3 families have moved out in frustration.

They are not getting away with it. They are experiencing high turnover. BBB does nothing and even if they did, nobody ever checks with BBB before renting or anything else. Besides complaints from former tenants are expected and most of the time can be easily disputed.

The BBB is a "paper tiger." The organization doesn't have the legal "muscle" to correct a situation. All they can do is record your complaint for others to read before they do business with that landlord.

You can't change those people. All you can do is move and be glad to be away from them.

What reason is management giving for coming into the apartments and checking for this stuff? Ok I can see the manager or maintenence guy coming in occasionally to check problems but crumbs under the microwave, cmon now that is a little rediculous.

honestly, they have not given any proper reason for why they stop by.

the last two times they said they were stopping by to spray the apartments for pest control.

this fateful day she claims someone from our house called about ants. i was at work. when i got home i asked and no one had called her.

each time the pest guy stops by apartments she suddenly shows up, not only at our house. usually the pest guy will stop by first to spray the apartments, then he excuses himself and she suddenly shows up.

when i questioned her about someone calling about ants and told her that there is an ant problem with other apartments too, she suddenly backed off.

last month when she stopped by she complained about dishes in the sink (breakfast dishes) as well as toys in the house. she went ahead to report us to the corporate office who usually do not confirm her stories and instead send residents threatening letters.

i sent them a complaint letter and i believe this set her on a path against us that is why she suddenly showed up at the apartment.

in the past they always sent us letters notifying us to clear the pantry and kitchen so that they could spray but the last 2 times there were no notices. she and the pest guy would just show up.

i sent another complaint letter this time. but we are looking for another place to move to.

i have never lived anywhere the leasing office came to supervise how residents lived in their houses.

let's not mention the police incidents that have been going on around, these are not being addressed but on the other hand, she has time to bully residents. a lot of people have been moving out and i think we need to do the same.
