My sister resides in Appleton and recently she found out that her "husband" did not get divorced until January of this year but my sister was married to him on 6-2-99. She would like to prosecute him for bigamy and also receive custody of their two children, as well as establish child support. She does not know where to go from here, and she has contacted a couple of attorneys in her area and they are not sure where to start with this case. Can you help my sister? She has a copy of their marriage license as well as a copy of his divorce decree. My sister was marriedin Las Vegas, but they both currently reside in Appleton, Wisconsin. His divorce was in Maryland where his ex-wife and other child lives. Where does she go from here? what type of fees and retainer is she looking at? Please feel free to e-mail me and I will pass the information on to my mother and sister.

She reports the bigamy to the police and retains an attorney to file for an annulment of the 'marriage'. Along side that she petitions for custody of the children and child support.
