What is the name of your state? California

I posted this in a thread yesterday... I was hoping to get an answer from bigun or ladynred.

My BK was discharged in 5/2004.

My 2nd mortgage which was included in the BK is still reporting on my credit report the following:

Recent Balance/recent payment column: $50,000.00 last reported 12/2005

Status: Open/Never Late (Untrue, but this is how it reads)

Creditor's Statement: "Special handling - contact subcriber for additional information"

They don't mention the BK at all... It's most definately on my discharge... it was only 1 of 3 things I filed BK on. (I'm looking at my discharge nd BK paperwork... it's all there.

QUESTION IS... Is the reporting they are doing legal?

I spoke with the mortgage company once regarding the "special rehandling". They told me it was not my business what they tell other institutions who may call (very snotty) and I said that this debt was discharged back in 2004... I was hung up on.

From what you posted, it looks like the trade line is being reported positively. Do you want them to slam a zero balance IIB designation on the account? Why do you think the reporting is harmful?

Well, it makes it look as though I have 50,000 loan out there that is being paid on... I filed BK on that, as if the BK isn't bad enough - I wasn't sure if the 50,000 is lowering my score even further.

Just trying to clean up and stay clean for the future.
