What is the name of your state? Texas

I work for a doctor. I believe I've read on this board that creditors have no obligation to send a patient a bill before turning the account to collections. If that is the case, can someone point me to the statute? I've searched Texas Code and can't find anything regarding this. Thanks for any help.
