five years ago my husband nearly killed me by stabbing me 21x. we have a son together but the court automatically terminated his parental rights after the incident. would i need his consent for my husband to adopt my son? would he actually have any say so considering my son will be 19 when he gets out of prison?

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

If the court terminated his parental rights -- HE HAS NO RIGHTS TO THAT CHILD. Soooooo..........adopt away!!!! You should have no problems. Make sure you take with you a copy (certified) of the actual order terminating his rights so those court clerks don't give you a hard time.
