My boyfriend signed a paternity paper and was put on the birth certificate. My child is now four months old and I want to remove his name from the birth certificate. Can I do this through the court system without his approval. At that point he can then choose to fight it and have a DNA test performed or not contest I live in Utah.

you can't do anything unless you either have his permission or court determines he has abandoned his child.

His permission alone would not allow her to remove his name. Also, just because a person abandons their child, a court would not then remove their name from the b/c.

Why our poster wants to remove our name is anyone's guess.. either she does not think he is the father or just wants him out or her life.. who knows..
