What is the name of your state? FL
I am in the process of locating a competent BK attorney to assist me with my Chapter 7 filing.
During this time, I have learned of a BK attorney who is also a BK Trustee here. It would seem to me that, one, this attorney must be very knowledgeable about the entire procedure since she works both sides, so to speak.
But, I also have to think this is a conflict of interest of sorts. Isn't it? I mean, she represents her clients in the same room, in front of the very other Trustees she works with. I would think the possibility of extending her "favors" from her Trustee friends and coworkers would prove beneficial to her clients.
I can't help but think she knows what the Trustees are looking for, and what they are going to ask her clients. It's almost as if she has inside info.
Has anyone run into this situation?

**A: and would you have a problem hiring her as your BK attorney? If not, you are free to hire someone else.

I realize I am at liberty to hire an attorney of my choosing.
I was looking to hear if this scenario is common or if it is highly unusual, and if anyone has found a similar situation. If so, some feedback on their experience.

I, too, am curious

I am curious too about the attny/trustee thing. I am in the process of locating an attorney to file chptr 7 and my local phone book lists one that says he was a "former bankruptcy trustee". I'm thinking this might be a good thing but I'm really not sure. Anyone else have any opinion on this subject?
