I had a baby in the state of New Jersey in 1963, my sister worked for a lawyer in atlatic city at the time and they wanted me to put the baby up for adoption. I was 17 and had a job and told them both no. When I went into labor my sister drove me to the hospital and left me there, when it was time for the baby to be delivered I was taken into the delivery room, tied to the delivery table and had a towel put over my eyes so that I could not see the baby, they put a guard at me door so I could not get out of my room, when it was time for me to leave the hospital the nurses put my son in my arms and I was taken out to the car where my sister and her boss lawyer were waiting for me , only to be driven about 20 mins from the hospital, when we pulled up to another car where a man in a ski mask and gloves opened the car door and grabbed my baby out of my arms.
I never signed any papers and I believe that this was a black market adoption.
About two years ago I received a call from a social worker form the hospital where my son was born, his adoptive mother wanted to know information about me because my son and his wife were expecting their first child and he needed medical information to know if there were any health problems in the family.
Now in order for the social worker to have even found me she had to open sealed files, I have been looking for him all these years and I am still looking for him.
The social worker told me his first name and where he is living but can't tell me anymore for fear of her job, and the adoptive mother refuses to tell her son that she knows where I am.
I am up agains a wall and I would like to know if there is anything I can now do since the files were opened?
Any advice you can give me would be great.
Thanks
JoAnn

OMG, this is horrible!

When this all happened years ago, did you contact the authorities? What has been done regarding your child?

Black market adoption

I never said anything to authorities about it as I was warned not to.I was told it was best to let it go as I would forget all about it, besides I was told it would not do any good and I could ruion the lives of the adoptive parents and my sons life if I tried to interfere.
Being yound and not wanting to hurt my son in any way I left it alone, but have never forgotten
