california- boarding school in Nevada
my son attended a boarding/rehab in reno, nv for 1 yr. they said they were an accredited school. No problem to transfer units back to ventura co. calif. Turns out our school district wouldnt accept the units and school was shut down due to child molestation and the school didn't have ANY accreditation. The school has re opened with all new staff. My son came back to be a junior in highschool and because of this he is a freshman. He has given up on trying to catch up and make up the units he already did. They also advised they would provide group and individual therapy which was not done. I would like my tuition back + travel + interest on the school loan. Is this something I can get my money back from?

they are saying they are now accredited but didn't have any when he was there. New staff did research after I was on them for months to get me proof of it, that's when they found out and now have a completely different education program. It does say they are accredited in their contract with me.

Just one question: what was their accreditation status at the time you enrolled your son? Surely you checked.

You may want to research the California High School Proficiency Exam. Google it.
