Hi,
I am a cosmetologist in Tennessee. I was off work for 2 weeks due to galbladder surgery. Now that im back the owner of the shop is saying I owe for the 2 weeks I was off. I this legal? Do I owe the money for something I could not control?
Thanks!

you still owe it unless your lease gives you any direction other wise . Since you said booth rental is this safe to guess that you have your own customers and are in a place like a hair salon that rents spaces ( chairs ) ?

The space was still held for you, correct? The owner could not lease it to someone else, right? So why would you not owe for it?

Well thanks for posting your thoughts. I guess im just upset because my mother used to own the shop and the girl im renting from now bought her out, but when she was renting from my mother she had to have a surgery and was off for 6 weeks. My mother didnt make her pay said it wasnt right to hit someone when they are down. Anyways thanks again!
