I live in vernal, UT me and my wife bought a 92 honda accord from a used car dealership in town. 2 weeks after purchess the radiator went out and had to be replaced we had to pay for this. now a little under 2 weeks after that the clutch has gone out completely:mad:. we have a 30 day warenty on the transmission. now my question is: I no longer want the car oviously there was alot of problems never disclosed to me when i purchessed it. I dont believe they will give me my deposit back without going to court. my question is were exactly do i stand on getting my deposit back.

You aren't entitled to anything back. Enjoy your "new" 18-19 year old car!

Read your warranty.

I would not be at all surprised to find that the transmission warranty excludes the clutch.

If it doesn't, well it is on you to get the clutch fixed.

The first question is whether or not you took this car to a mechanic for an inspection but I'm 99.9% sure you did not.

Utah's lemon law does not cover used cars, so no help there. A warranty does not give you the right to get your money back on a purchase but rather obligates the seller to repair the item according to the terms of the warranty.

I am not a mechanic but I do not believe the clutch is ordinarily considered to be a part of the transmission. You should read the fine print of the warranty to confirm this.

If it's covered, the dealer must honor the warranty. If not, there is nothing you can do.

Did you honestly expect a 18 year old car would have no mechanical issues?

oviously i realise an 18 year old car could have problems. my point is there was no discloser of these problems during the purchess they made it sound to be of the top line of vechicles. they have there own mechnics do the inspecting and im becoming convinced that there is some shady things going down. not that id beable to prove such whithout some investigation. but on the point of having it inspected myself i should have thanks to your responses

The radiator may not have had any symptoms and it may have been your driving that burned up the clutch...

If they certified or guaranteed the specifications or fitness of any part of the car, in specific terms, as part of the contract or inducement of then you might have recourse.

This is doubtful.

I have seen that many people getting problem after purchasing used car. I have never bought any used car and I always suggest to my friends that they never purchase any second hand things. If you have problem in radiator then please take your car in company's garage.
