nj I am an IT independent contractor. I signed a contract with a consulting firm on behalf of my corporation. The consulting firm sent me to a client where I currently work now. The consulting firm should pay my corporation 30 days after the services provided or as soon as the client pays the consulting firm. I have not recieved my last December payment so far. I called them many times. I also sent a letter to them. I got my check about two weeks ago. But the check got bounced back. Can I leave my current consulting firm and find a new consulting firm? The client has already paid the consulting firm for the December.

What does your contract say about your not getting paid, and/or your ability to terminate your assignment through that agent???

That will be the key to what you can and cannot do.
