I am in the last stage of purchasing a home in Toledo, Ohio. It is a home that an older person owned and she left many things in the home and it was sold as-is, everything is the house stayed with the house. We are waiting for the lender to come back and tell us when we are closing. Yesterday one of the previous owners family members broke in the house and broke alot of things. My question is since I had to purchase insurance on the home before we could get the loan what action should I take now? can I ask that the price be knocked down? or what can I do?

Reduce the sales price by the like amount of the damages and cost to repair and cleanup the place. File a police report and have fingerprints taken.
