Hi, We currently live on a golf course community, nice home, small lot. We really would love much more ground for our kids, and new puppy. We are trying to see what would be an advantage to buying ground and having a home built, versus buying one in a community already. Do you really save that much. The second part of my question is this. My husband always dreamed of buying 3 or 4 acres then perhaps selling the land later, or building on it and living there. Kind of as an investment, especially the area we live is booming. We are north of dc, south of baltimore. Do you think this would be a good idea. We currently can probably sell our home for 520,000 so that would leave us with close to 200K equity (as we have done a home equity once or twice) or else we would be getting much more. Our house more than doubled in 3 years. Or do you suggest we just stay here a while and see if homes go up even more?
What advice would you give. Thank you very much
