My husband and I have lived in SW Florida for 22 years. We have two children now aged 20 and 18. I stayed home with these children for about 12 years. At about the same time by husband and brother started a business and have done well. I supported my husband during this time and did whatever I could to help with his business. I did go back to school and am now working at a decent job. Question is. I by no means make the kind of money that my husband makes or could ever live the same lifestyle like I do as when we live with combined checks. I must also say most of his assets in his company is not liquid, but in heavy duty expensive equipment. I don't feel I am entitled to half or even a quarter, but yet I feel i do deserve a lump settlement if this marriage ends. Do I have any rights here? Also, my husband has said in jest, but I believe he means it that he will sign everything over to his brother. Can he do this, so I can't get anything?
