What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? TX
I live in Houston TX. My ex-wife’s parents have a condo. About two years ago I agreed to buy it from them so they kinda substitute the bank in real estate mortgage process. We agreed about the interest rate and other details but we didn’t sign any contract. I started making the payments as agreed. Last week they went to check with a real estate lawyer about writing a contract for the deal and to our surprise the law in Texas prohibits them from “selling me the condo”!!! They are giving me back the payments I made so far but I was wondering if there is a legal way to go on with the sale. If not what should one like me with “poor credit ” do ?

**A: please post this law so I can review it. Sounds more like a Mexican law.
