I am a repeat DUI offender unfortunatly. California is bringing a new law into effect july 2010. sb598. it states that a 2 time repeat dui offender within 10 years can now recieve a restricted license after serving 90 days of the suspension with enrollment of a dui program and an iid device installed on their vehicle. my question is, will i be eligable even tho i was convited of my second dui before this law has come into effect, only by about 4 months. the law was signed oct of 2009 by our governator arnold swartzenagger(sp?). this new law if i can take advantage of it will really help as im about to loose my job and all means of making a living due to my boss can not wait a whole year for me to recieve a regular restircted license as the old law states, and a whole other year to get a real license back, i am a mobile heavy equipment mechanic. im no lawyer so im not sure how the laws effect dates work. as i read the law and research no where does it say people convicted before that date are not eligable for this oppertunity. i appreciate any info i can get thank you very much
