CA - How to Transfer a DBA

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

I purchased a business from a previous owner. The business is a DBA of another corporation. I'm purchasing the DBA only. I would like to know the steps in transferring the DBA to me name or if there are any helpful links that I can read about as well; furthermore, what are the steps in legally defining that everything, which previously belonged to the previous owner under the DBA, is now under my name, since the DBA is under my name? Please tell me if this makes sense and don't hesitate to contact me if anything needs to be clarified. Help is much appreciated. Thank you!

Ok, If anyone is interested, I got my question answered. Apparently, you can't transfer DBA in California. All I have to do is go to the county office and register a new DBA with exactly the same name as the DBA that I'm purchasing. Apparently, anyone can register a DBA with an already existing name. Hence, there can be duplicate, triplicates, etc. The state doesn't check nor care about it.
