What is the name of your state? TN
I'm wondering how much action I should take regarding collection agencies lies. For instance, twice now, I've had the caller state "what about your husband?" "where does he work?" etc. I state that it doesn't matter because I am solely responsible for the debt. Next the caller states "In the state of Tennessee, your husband is responsible for the debt".
I am not married and they are just phishing for information which I do not give them. One CA tried to say that the father of my children is responsible for the debt.
I'm living with relatives and one CA makes TWO contacts in ONE day every 2 or so days. I consider this excessive. They say things like "you called us", "I'm following up on my employee's recommendations about you", etc.
I, of course, do not have a phone line. This is my relatives' phone line and I am staying with them. They recently got two phone lines (one for the computer) so I am going to notify the CAs and the credit card companies of my "new" phone number so I can ignore it. I would prefer to update to NO phone number as I really have no phone service. Do you think that would be possible?
The credit card companies were a lot less aggressive on the phone!
Oh, I did get mail from one CA on a small medical debt with the house property value of my relatives' home. Should I call them back and let them know that I do not own any property?
Thanks as always!
