What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?CA

I AM ATTEMPTING TO HAVE NY SUPPORT ARREARS ENFORCED. MY EX WORKS IN CA AND I HAVE REGISTERED THE ARREARS IN CA. HE WORKS IN CA HOWEVER HIS PAYROLL AND THE COMPANY H/O IS MEMPHIS TN. HIS COMPANY REFUSES TO ENFORCE WAGE GARNISHMENTS. CAN ANYONE ADVISE ME WHAT LAW ALLOWS THEM TO DO THIS AND IF THEY CAN LEGALLY GET AWAY WITH NOT ENFORCING SUPPORT.

THANKS

what kind of employee is he? I think there is a way to garnish an independent contractor, but it may be why you have hit a wall.

It would be advisable for you to speak with an attorney about this. Are you trying to collect the arrears through Child Support Services? While states cooperate with regard to collecting current child support, there might be a problem with collecting only arrears. Since our child is no longer attending high school after this month, our CA case might be closed because only arrears will be due. We're still waiting to find out about it.

I Am Trying To Collect Thru Csu In Ny And Ca. However The Child Is Over 21 And The Support Order Is Dated April, 1984. Someone Mentioned Statute Of Limitations For Ny Child Support. That Is Why We Registered It In Ca. Is It Possible For Him To Motion The Court In Ny To Somehow Remove The Arrears, Part Of The Arrears Are For Alimony And I Remarried Some Time Ago Can He Have Those Arrears Reduced?

Thanks
