two questions: my husband left Texas (where I live) almost six years ago and moved to California. Four years ago he filed for divorce but has never finalized it. What can I do (with no money for atty's fees) to get the divorce he filed for? A glitch: I was just named the sole beneficiary of a life insurance policy, and the holder died recently. Does my estranged husband have any legal right to this money?

Providing you keep this money seperate from marital funds, then it is yours.. ie, if the house you live in is in both your names, don't use it to pay of some of the mortgage.

You need to buy a 'how to' book on how to divorce. You might be save just filing in TX as the filing in CA has probably died..
