California
My employer already had a paid sick leave policy before the "new" California sick leave law went into effect in 2015.
I had accumulated over 60 hours of paid sick leave in my bank which I earned over the last 18 years.
My employer refused to acknowledge their ability to maintain/grandfather their paid sick leave policy (allowing employees to earn 8 hours per month) that was in existence prior to January 1, 2015.
My employer took all of my earned sick leave away from me and now allows me to only earn 3 days per year.
Did my employer violate the law by taking away my 60+ hours of earned sick time?
