What is the name of your state? wv. i am 53 years old and have been married to the same man for 35 years. he draws a small v.a. check . we have never gotten along well but stayed married for the children. the children are all married now and gone from home. if i leave him will he have to pay me some of his check? i have always stayed home with the kids and have no experience working . we are paying on a home also , who will get to stay in it?

Good gracious! Your scenario sounds just like an in-law family member of ours from WV, ages--the whole bit! In her situation, she got the house and the bank accounts; he got an apartment and his VA check. She got a job and developed a circle of friends and a life outside of that house.
