Well, honestly, by the time I adopt I'll be nineteen.

Anyways, I live in Minnesota and I was wondering if it was possible for an eighteen year old to adopt a child. I was planning to take in a girl of about thirteen to fourteen that I've known for a bit; and I would never do this if her family situation wasn't fairly bad.
I'm really curious to know if that's even possible. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks so much,
Indigo

If you're not married and in a stable relationship and have a good income or are independently well off and have no previous parenting experience, your chances of adopting someone at your age are slim and none.

If the parents of the girl wouldn't consent, that will also create a stumbling block for you.

I would need to know a LOT more about the facts of your situation (and hers) before giving a better answer.
