What is the name of your state?FL
I currently own a franchise and have listed the business for sale. I have a contract with a person who wishes to buy it. The franchise is giving me a hard time selling it because they feel the buyer has no experience. The franchise has an extensive training program for new people. The buyer is sound otherwise. They did not say no yet but they want to persue other options first, options I am not interested in. The franchise agreement states they have to approve the sale but does not give any reason why they can or can not approve. Do I have any legal recourse if they do not approve the sale?

If the agreement gives them the right to review and/or approve, then you would not have a case against them for exercising the right you agreed to (when you signed the agreement).

Maybe - there's always the implied covenant of good faith argument. No real way to tell based just on the facts presented though.
