I am one of four brothers inheriting an estate in Nebraska. This estate is simple and according to our meeting with the attorney did not have to go through probate as long as the brothers agreed with the inheritance as set out in the will. We all did. The oldest brother was named as PR by the will and we all accepted that. The PR lives in Iowa and rarely comes home to discuss the handling ot the estate. We were all quite dismayed when we received a letter that the estate was in Probate court!! This action was not discussed with us -the three heirs in Nebraska- and we think this action is going to cost us substantially. Is there any way that an estate can be removed from probate?? Also, can the personal representative be removed and a new one selected that lives in the county where the will is filed??
