At start of divorce proceedings now. Wife says she has to approve of any nanny that I hire for myself (we're currently taking care of the kids 50/50.) Is this true? She can fire a nanny I hire for my own home?

no. not unless your divorce agreement says that the other has to approve of the person who will watch your children.

No, she cannot unless you agree to it in a court order. However, you will want to do a thorough background search on a nanny. A criminal past, especially regarding children, could cause a loss of custody for you, not to mention what it could cost the kids.

Is this a "nanny" or is this your new girlfriend? Do your orders have first right of refusal?
