Hi,
I would appreciate some advice here. I recently boarded my horse at a stable in MD (I am in PA) and some not very nice things happened to both him and me there. What I want to do is host a website using the name of the stable (example: ABC Farm Warning as a title for my website) in my title and I want to post the stable owner's emails to me on the site as evidence of what happened there. I understand that defamation only occurs if what I say is false and that the burden of proof for proving it false is on the person claiming I defamed them - is that true? Everything I stated on my site is absolutely true and can be proven. So I guess my questions are as stated above and these: is it copyright infringement to use the name of the stable in my title (the stable does have a webpage obviously using the title) or the name of the stable and owner in my metatags, is it legal to post the owner's emails to me and if she sues me for defamation can she win if all I am doing is providing a service to people in warning them of what happened to me and my horse (keep in mind that I couldn't care less if she sues me, I only care if she wins!)? You have no idea how much I appreciate any answers :=).

Entertaining read...

Hi HomeGuru,
If you'd like an entertaining read (albeit slightly long) please visit http://www.geocities.com/kylla4 (I don't know how to make that a hyperlink, I'm sorry). The PETA case was exactly what I needed to read - did she prevail, I hope?

Your homepage color needs to be changed to a light color. The red clashes with the black and blue text colors.
I hope Zeke isn't red.

How'd you read that so quickly?

LOL - that was mighty quick. And, no, Zeke is (as all Friesians are) black. Although I used to have a red horse :=) - she was very pretty!

I took the Evelyn Woodhead Speed & Psychic Reading Dynamics Course. All graduates already know the words before someone types them.

And under whose tutelage...

did you learn interior design? I'm impressed with your obvious psychic ability; however, I'm disappointed that I went to all that time and effort to produce the WORDS on the pages and all you critique is my interior decorating skills???? Form over content? :=)

I used to be part owner of a website development company.
The term is not interior decorating but website design. The background color is easy to change on that template format. The words are for others to read and not only for me. I thought you wanted to make the website for other horses to read? Horses have a hard time reading the words on the red background. Just ask them.

Signed,
Galloping Gourmut

An entire herd of Shetland ponies reviewed that site and they simply ADORED the red (red as in alert, as in sailors take warning)! Were you at least slightly amused by the content? I find it rather entertaining (it wasn't as it was occurring, but it is now)...Signed, Stubborn About the Red Although May Play Around With It Later
