Medical expenses are making me consider different ways to earn some money. I have not been able to work at conventional jobs due to a disability, but I can still drive. I have a lot of driving experience and hope to take advantage of it.

I live in southwest Florida and am thinking about offering a driving service to the elderly, winter visitors returning to the north. I plan on offering to tow their boats and trailers or drive their motor homes or cars. I intend to charge a daily rate plus expenses and return transportation if I drive their vehicle. If I use my truck to tow their trailer I plan to charge a flat rate per loaded mile.

Do any forum readers have suggestions on ways to cover myself legally? What licenses and insurance are required for this type of operation? What pitfalls have I not anticipated?

Thanks for your help.
