What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida
--- I am professional painter, who has designed a unique and unusual faux-finishing process that uses three or four different store-bought products in an unprecedented way. Creating a completely different use for the various sealants and paints I purchase at Home Depot, I mix and layer the materials in a unique and unprecedented way to create the illusion of depth and luminescence in series of unusual faux-marble and faux-granite surface treatments. The layering and drying process can be easily taught or duplicated once the steps and techniques are understood. Friends tell me that I should patent the process, but I'm not sure that's possible. Would you kindly give me your professional opinion: Is a painting process such as the one I've described patentable? Thanks tons. Truly.
